Whether you are an individual or an organisation or business you can support our work all year round by joining our Festival Friends scheme. See below for information on our Festival Friends scheme and our Corporate Friends scheme.
There are many ways that you can give funds to support the festival, from one-off donations to more planned giving. The producers of the festival, New Writing North, are a registered charity and all donations can be Gift Aided, meaning that your gift means even more.
Festival Friends scheme
• Money-can’t buy invitations to special events
• Two free tickets to an event of your choice
• A special Friends newsletter and early booking opportunities
• Special ‘Friends only’ ticket prices across the programme
• Book Festival Friend book bag, badge and membership card
By becoming a Friend of the festival you can support us to grow and develop. Sign up now and we will send you a Friends Welcome Pack and sign you up to our Friends Newsletter. Membership runs annually from January-December each year.
• Individual subscription as a Festival Friend costs £50 per year
• Couples membership costs £80 per year
• Young Friends who are under 25 can join for only £20 per year

Corporate Friends scheme
Become a Corporate Friend and gain access to unique events and benefits
Gaining the support of local businesses is absolutely vital to the future success of Durham Book Festival. By becoming a Friend of the festival you can support us to grow and develop and contribute to many of our activities including work with children, young people and community groups.
Our Corporate Friends scheme allows companies and organisations to access unique opportunities as part of the festival.

• The Durham Book Festival is the North’s biggest annual celebration of books and reading. The festival takes place each autumn in the city of Durham and at iconic venues across the county. By supporting the festival you will be associating your company with a leading cultural event
• Each year the festival attracts thousands of people to events and engages with many members of the community through work with schools, libraries and community groups. Our audiences are your customers too
• The festival attracts a wide range of coverage in the media both regionally and nationally and we generate a great deal of value to our sponsors through this success
Becoming a Corporate Friend costs £500 per year and has the following benefits:
• Corporate entertainment opportunities at festival events in iconic venues such as Durham Cathedral and Durham Town Hall
• Your company logo featured in the festival brochure and on our website
• Ten free tickets for events of your choice each year
• Invitations for colleagues and guests to the festival launch
• ‘First refusal’ opportunities to sponsor community and public events
• Money-can’t-buy opportunities to invite writers into your workplace
• Staff entertainment opportunities and special offers on selected events each year
• An invitation to a special festival briefing with the Festival Director prior to each festival
• A supporters' certificate to display in your office
